What's up?

Alrighty, I promised I would be back and here I am!

So much has happened since I last posted something substantial. Blaine was accepted at BYU-Idaho to start in the Winter of 2012. We evaluated our options and as much as we really, really, REALLY want to go up there, we have come to the conclusion that we just cannot afford taking a paycut. We both have jobs where we may not be making a whole lot of money, but it is more money than we would make if we found jobs in the Rexburg area. and it is currently covering our needs.

So, we decided to put Plan B into effect.

The lease on our apartment was up at the end of August and instead of paying the $100 rent increase, we decided to move in with Blaine's dad Bill. Both of Blaine's brothers are on their missions - One is in the Pocatello, Idaho mission, he's been in Idaho Falls (if you see a tall, super skinny guy with the name Brixey on his name tag ... that would be David) and the other  (Matthew) is in Mesa, Arizona - also tall and super skinny. - and Blaine's dad is lonely, so we moved in with him to accomplish several items. 1) get the house fixed up and either sell it, or get it moved onto some land (its a mobile home) north of McKinney. 2) Allow Blaine to be closer to his father so they can both work more aggressively on getting the business going (so I can quit my job :) and 3) Pay off our debt.

Blaine and Bill have been working on the house for several weekends now and so far they have managed to level the house on their own - Blaine had a really bad allergic reaction to the insulation under the house, so Bill needs to finish it up ... Not really sure what needs to be done ...

They have also built me a shelving unit where I can store bedding and some boxes and expand my "box of crap" to a "shelf of crap" (all the stuff I get from CVS for pennies on the dollar - This week I got a cartridge of razors, and 4 things of deodorant and didn't give them any money ... I think they actually owed me $.04 at the end of the transaction -  I always get the biggest kick of being able to walk out of the store legally with free stuff :))

This weekend they built some shelves for the Laundry Room to organize it better and are replacing the dishwasher, which has turned out to be a bigger job than anticipated. The original dishwasher died about a year ago, and unknown to Bill was still full of water and food particles (left by Dave and Matt). So when he pulled it out to hook the new one up, all that nasty, moldy, food-water came out and went everywhere ... we found the source of the foul stench, but they are now rebuilding the cabinet under the sink.

Slowly but surely, things are getting better :)
