My New Favorite Game
In a desperate attempt to find more money, and because it is the only flexible item in the budget, I decided to try and cut back on our grocery budget. I didn’t have a clue how to do it, other than change the food we are eating to cheaper meals. A few months back I discovered a website dedicated to cheap, healthy eating which also had a menu to feed a family of 4 for $75/week. Since I couldn’t remember the name of the website I decided to Google $75 Menu and instead of finding the hillbillyhousewife site, I found a blog where this woman feeds her family of 8 on $75 a week – and she doesn’t make everything from scratch like the Hillbilly Housewife does.
After reading how she used coupons and the inserts from the local grocery stores to find the best deals to feed her family – I decided I wanted to get started on this game, too. I have tried to play the coupon game before with little success, but with the help of http://athriftymom.com/ and http://moneysavingmom.com all of the rules were explained and they even told me how to create the deals and what coupons to clip.
